Virginia May Kasik Thomas, born on November 29, 1926, mother of four children: Pam, Steve, Matt, and Doug with 6 grandchildren: Rachel and Robert, Kyle and Nolan, and Erica and Ian, respectively, passed onward August 13, 2021. She is survived by the last of her siblings, Warren Kasik.

Affectionately known as Ginny, she graduated from Kent State University in June 1950, and her Bachelor of Science in Education degree began a lifelong career supporting community. She then became a founding member of Parma Christian Church. After bringing four children into the world, Ginny taught English as a second language through most of the 1960s, providing her adult students with the skills needed to pass the U.S. citizenship test.

Following her divorce, she entered the Marymount nursing program, earning an LPN certification in November 1977 after which she was employed at Deaconess Hospital, working on the Psychiatric unit for the next 15 years. Upon retirement, she watched over Rob and Rachel for several years, forming a bond along with Kyle and Nolan and Erica and Ian to this day.

Continuing to pursue her desire to support others, Virginia with Marianne Page delivered Meals on Wheels for the next fifteen years. It wasn't until she was into her eighties that she slowed down, tending to her flowers and garden.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Rd., Parma, OH 44129. Family will receive friends from 4:00pm until time of service at the funeral home.
