A celebration of Joseph Cole "Wormy" Evans life will be held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Interment will be at Lone Grove Memorial West Cemetery.

Cole was born January 4, 2005, and was the son of Joseph Don and Rebecca Sue Uptergrove Evans. Cole left this earth way to soon and earned his angel wings on August 12, 2021 following an auto accident.

Cole, an incoming junior at Lone Grove High School, was a very generous young man. He would help anyone with anything that he could. He was a member of the Longhorn Baseball Team, the Lone Grove FFA Shooting Team, and was known as the class clown. He loved the outdoors, be it hunting, fishing, tubing or camping with his friends and family.

He loved his little brother Garrett and sister Lexi, and they had a very close and tight bond. He also loved children especially babies. Cole was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church.

He loved life and lived it as if there wasn't a second to waste. His momma couldn't slow him down. Baseball was his passion. He loved so many and loved hard. Everyone knew Wormy. A friend said "man, he was a firecracker", and that he was. So many looked up to him. Cole loved the Lord and was a gentle soul. He didn't care who saw him cry. He never left without saying I love you and always kissed his momma goodnight.

Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Joe and Becca, his brother Garrett; sister Lexi Meadows; maternal grandparents, Dale and Connie Uptergrove; paternal grandparents, C.D. and Pam Evans; great grandmother, Mary Evans; his girlfriend, Marlee Taylor; aunts and uncles; Nick Evans; Tommy and Carolyn Uptergrove; Jeff and Celeste Michelle Uptergrove; Chris Jones; Crystal Jones and John Spence; and David and Betsy Cook; cousins; Maycee, Reid, Torye, Bryson, Saphira, Phenix, Reigh, Brenton, Slade, Jacob, Nathan, Tad, Lola, Dovie, Jeremiah, and Braylee. He also leaves a host of other relatives and many friends who will miss him dearly. There to greet him in heaven were his paternal grandmother Marcilla Evans, and great grandparents, Bob Evans, Earl and Vinita Danker, Vetrice Pruitt and Naomi Uptergrove.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Garrett Evans, Reid Featherston, Caden Pyles, Jase Howell, Landon Howell, Michel Cain, Connor King and Colton Raper. Honorary bearers will be members of the Lone Grove Baseball and Softball teams, and the FFA Chapter Shooting Team.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Cole's honor to the Wormy scholarship fund set up at First National Bank.

Services entrusted to Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory, where words of comfort and condolences may be left for Cole's family at www.hdouglasfuneralhome.com.
