"Joel Allen Smith, 64, of Hayesville passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in an Asheville hospital. He was a native of Greenville, South Carolina and was the son of the late Wallace Allen and Martha Marie Mullinax Smith. Joel had worked and retired as a truck driver with Department of Transportation in Clay County.
Surviving are his wife Yula Smith; four sons, Joel Smith, Jr., Drew Smith, Wade Smith, and Aaron Smith; a daughter, Megan Smith; three brothers, Rex Smith and wife, Ronda, Mike Smith and wife, Lisa, and David Smith and wife, Amy; six grandchildren; and several nieces.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening, August 20, 2021 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Hayesville.
