Ana was born on January 01, 1948, in Amarillo to Michael and Maria Martinez. She married her husband, Edward on April 3rd, 1991. Ana loved collecting dolls and owned the "Mimi's Doll house and Hospital" for several years. She was a volunteer for hospice and also PASO in Amarillo. She loved to care for others especially her family. Ana worked outside the home, and was never afraid to work hard. She retired from the Texas Department of Health and Human services as a supervisors. Ana loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, she enjoyed family time and also giving to those she was close to. Ana was an avid reader and enjoyed a good crossword puzzle. Her family remembers how much she liked to shop for her grandchildren as well. They never left her home without a souvenir. The holidays where special to Ana, she never failed to go all out on every holiday. She was a kid at heart, up until the end of her life.
Ana was a friend to everyone she encountered and she never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed.
Ana was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Jimmy and Leroy Martinez.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Herrera of the home, three daughters, Mary Alvarado, Paula Martinez, Veronica Soliz and her husband Jerry all of Amarillo; nine grandchildren, Lauren, Cassandra, Paul Alvarado III, Alejandro, Christian, Joab, Jade, Devin and Brodie; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Michael Martinez and Gregory Martinez; one sister, Elia Martinez.
