THOMASVILLE | Jesse Nolan Towery, 83, of Thomasville, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Thomasville Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at J.C. Green and Sons Chapel by the Rev. Robert Walker. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Towery was born April 20, 1922, in Chase City, Va., to Bill Towery and Bessie May Odom Towery. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, serving during World War II. He was the former owner and operator of East Green Street Curb Market in High Point.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Towery Twisdale and her husband, Melvin, of Lexington; three sons, John Towery and his wife, Miriam, of Thomasville, Doug Towery and his wife, Nancy, of Denton and Tim Towery of Thomasville; two sisters, Rebron Reid and her husband, Paul, and Muriel Morris and her husband, Clarence, all of Lexington; one brother, Ronell Towery of Lexington; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 6:30 to 8 and other times at their respective homes.
