He married Kathleen (Kathy) Schommer on October 28, 1972. They bought a home on Lake Brophy where they raised four wonderful children. Gary enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, and fishing. He also enjoyed golfing, playing cards, bingo, and puzzles. He liked to cheer for Minnesota sports and was an excellent carpenter at home. He will be forever missed by his loving family.
Gary B. Hanson passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Monday, August 9, 2021, at the age of 76 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Kathy Hanson; children Jody Norris, Becky (Brian) Bogart, Tessa (Ryan) Spencer, and Brian Hanson; grandsons, Justin, Matthew, Ian, and Gannon; sister, Marie (John) Stellner and many more relatives.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 2-4 PM with a Time of Sharing to begin at 4 PM.
A Private Family Interment will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory.
