Ms. Shephard died Saturday, Oct. 26, at her home.
A Randolph County resident most of her life, Ms. Shephard was a Heard County, Ga., native, born March 27, 1950, daughter of Charlie Joe and Ruby Johnson Strickland. She was a member of Rock Mills Missionary Baptist Church and had been a quality control supervisor with Terry Manufacturing Company.
Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Sims of Roanoke; two sons, Viondi Pate and Kevin Pate of Roanoke; four grandchildren; six sisters, Willo Terry of Roanoke, Kathleen James of Davenport, Iowa, Marian Augustus and Barbara Stitt of Kansas City, Kan., and Lillian Finch and Mary Strickland Terry of Atlanta; one brother, Charlie Strickland of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews.
Ms. Shephard was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ruby Strickland; one
grandson, Jeffery Jamal Sims; and one sister, Anna Pool.
The family will receive friends at Ms. Shephard's residence: 816 Oakcrest Drive, Roanoke.
Arrangements are by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke.
