Walter Dewey Rhodes was born September 7, 1937 to Walter and Mary (Curtis) Rhodes in Saint Louis, Missouri. Walter grew up and attended school in the Saint Louis area graduating from Cleveland High. Following his graduation, he enlisted into the United States Navy where he honorably served our country for two years. After serving his country, he was married to his first wife Sherri. Together they were blessed with two children, Kenny and Stacy. Sadly, they later divorced.

Walter then later met his second wife, Margo. To this union they were blessed with 3 children: Mike, Michelle and Brian. Together they raised their family in West County. Walter was a hard-working man even into the later years of his life. He was employed by Saint Louis Drapery and Upholstery until his recent retirement in 2014.

He enjoyed working and providing for his family, dining, gambling, bowling, playing pool, and attending his son Brian's sporting events, as well as his grandkids sporting events. He also loved to spend time outdoors, working in the garden, planting flowers and produce when he wasn't working.

Walter was an avid Cardinals fan and was always very giving. He loved his children very much and would do anything for them.
