A lifelong resident of Mayport, Florida, she was the daughter of Carol Landrum Strickland Parsons and William F. Strickland Jr., and the sister of William F. Strickland III, all of whom predeceased her.
A graduate of Fletcher High School and the University of Florida, she worked in the family restaurant business, the marine supply business and taught science at Fletcher Middle School. She was an elder at Mayport Presbyterian Church.
Janice will be remembered for her kindness to everyone, her ability to catch fish when no one else could, her expert and delicious cooking and her penchant for taking care of strays, both animal and human. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Mayport Cemetery.
