Jim Mosley, 83, passed away on August 8th at Senior Care of Hewitt.

Jim was born in Waco, Texas and graduated from La Vega High School. He served in the United States Naval Reserve and both the Bellmead and Waco Fire Departments. He graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. Jim was married to Patricia Harberts for over forty-five years.

Jim worked for the Fort Worth Press, the Orange County Register in Santa Ana, California, and the Gazette Telegraph in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His career in news photography included many photos used by the Associated Press as well as covers of several national magazines. Jim covered both state and national figures including six US Presidents. Jim returned to Waco and worked for over twenty years as the Photography Manager at Padgitt's. He also taught photography at McClennan Community College, gave lectures on photography to local groups, and taught photography on travel tours. Nature photography was his passion.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, William "Jimmy" Mosley and Louise Mosley of Waco. His wife, Patricia Mosley, passed away in 2020.

Survivors include his daughters, Lori Mosley of Austin, and Lisa Dillard of Denton; and granddaughter, Megan Dillard, of Denton.

Memorials may be made to the Waco Fire Department or Hewitt Animal Shelter.
