Pastor Charlie "CF" Williams
June 3, 1934 ~ August 9, 2021 (age 87)

Reverend C. F. Williams, Pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, departed this life on Monday, August 9, 2021. Pastor Williams celebrated his 50th Pastor's Anniversary on August 8, 2021. Born June 2, 1934 in Frierson, Louisiana to the late Birzie and Hattie Lee Williams, Pastor Williams' preaching legacy has stood the test of time. His leadership in ministry began in 1961 after being called to his very first church. His commitment to preaching God's word along with his humility and charisma afforded him pastorate positions in Louisiana. He took great pride in helping younger ministers and served as mentor to hundreds throughout northwest Louisiana. He was always willing to share his pulpit with other preachers; he cared deeply for the Lord and preaching the gospel. In addition to serving his church, he served his country as a Private First Class in the United States Army. That journey allowed him to study theology while in Germany and he completed more study when he returned home. After God and family, he loved Mt. Olive Baptist Church and served with integrity until he took his very last breath. Pastor Williams experienced the many joys of life including a wife of 41-years, Leola Dunn Williams, that loved him, children that adored him, friends that respected him, preachers that admired him, a church that supported him until his last day on the earth and above all, a God that trusted him to, "Preach the word in season and out of season."

He will be laid to rest on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 11am. Services will be held at Mt. Olive Baptist Church (7307 Liberty Street) and interment will follow at Northwest Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana. His Pastor, Reverend Maurice Simmons of Mary Goula Baptist Church, will officiant the celebration of life. Services have been entrusted to Heavenly Gates Funeral Home. Well done, Pastor Williams, well done!
