Charlene worked for Birmingham Public Schools for over thirty years. The most personally rewarding time during her employment came from the experiences and relationships she developed while working as a paraprofessional aid supporting special needs children.
Charlene is survived by her sons, James Hayes (Jessica), Sean Hayes (Melissa), her daughter, Maria, her five grandchildren, Christian, Elsa, Holden, Hunter and Mina, her brother Bob (Marilyn), and sisters, Mary Lou, Lori (Chuck) and Susan (Mike). She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road, Wednesday, August 11, at 11am. Friends may visit Tuesday, August 10, 3-8pm. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Birmingham, immediately following Wednesday's service.
