Gary W. Howard, age 87, passed away on February 14, 2021 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. He was born on December 14, 1933 in Madison, Wisconsin.

Gary was a veteran of the US Air Force entering into service at the age of 17 and serving from 1950 to 1954.

On February 7, 1953 he was united in marriage to Loretta Swanson. Together they celebrated 38 years of marriage until her passing in 1991.

Gary loved the outdoors and spent much of his time camping, hiking, gardening, and cutting and splitting wood to heat his home. Gary enjoyed a good road trip particularly when it took him out West. He had a tremendous passion for his dogs.

Gary is survived by his son, Chris (Mimi) Howard; daughter, Julia (Pete) Johnson; three grandchildren: Matt and Kendra Johnson and Nick Howard.

A private family internment with military honors will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
