A lifelong computer geek and gamer, his favorite game of all time was World of Warcraft (user name Lunarvow). He was a big fan of Comic Con, the fantasy world and enjoyed going to the Barn Theatre and Miller Auditorium . Rich worked for more than 25 years at Flowserve where he was well liked by his co-workers. A man of large stature, he was a gentle giant and gave freely to those in need. He has traveled all over the world and was looking forward to an upcoming trip to Ireland and Scotland with friends. Rich struggled with diabetes and lived life to the fullest and was grateful for each and everyday. Though he was never married, family was important to him and he would make every attempt to connect with both friends and family.

Members of his family include his brother: David and his wife Tammy; two nieces: Catrina Stanley and Heather Cook; his half sister: Sandra Ibrahim; several extended family members and his beloved cat Luna. Cremation has taken place and a gathering will take place at a later date. Visit Rich's webpage at BetzlerLifeStory.com to archive favorite memories, photos and sign his guestbook.
