Marjorie Cook (a.k.a. Mickey or Gigi), age 96, passed away suddenly at her home in Houston, Tx, uniting with her Lord and Savior, on August 6, 2021.

Mickey, her beloved nickname and the name she was most well-known for, was born on October 4, 1924, in Fort Worth, Texas.  She loved reminiscing about her childhood and how she and her older sister, Katherine, and friends would play outside and visit each other on their front porches.  She would always remind us that this was long before television and video games!

She would proudly talk about how she worked in the payroll department of Consolidated Aircraft during WWII and later with some of the first IBM computers.  She then married her husband, Aaron Cook, after he returned from Navy duty in the Pacific during WWII. They were married for 72 years, until he passed away, August 3, 2019.  They had two children, Cynthia Cook McBride and Miles Cook, both deceased.

Mickey is survived by her granddaughter, Lisa Neuman and husband, Greg, grandson Sean McBride and wife, Jeaneth, three great-grandchildren, Zach and Matthew Neuman and Isaac McBride, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was known as "Gigi" to her great-grandchildren, who brought her such joy, and she felt very fortunate to have had the opportunity to be a big part of their lives.

She loved playing bridge, and was in a bridge group for many years. She was also fond of travel.  She and her husband were fortunate to have traveled around the world.  She loved living in London for a couple of years in the late 70's, allowing the opportunity to travel throughout Europe.  She and our grandfather also took many cruises.

She was the epitome of strength and resolve.  She had outlived her only 2 children, and despite these tragic losses, she continued living with grace and fortitude.  She was our "rock" and the glue that kept this family together.

 She will be sorely missed.
