Born in East Liverpool, June 27, 1948, he was a son of the late Emmanuel "Greenie" Green and Dorothy M. Gatrell Green. A lifetime area resident, he worked at the GM Lordstown Plant until retiring in 1998 after 33 years of service. A graduate of East Liverpool High School where he was a member of the wrestling team, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra "Sandy" Pyatt Lemley Green, at home. The couple married December 13, 2002. He is also survived by a son, Gary Green, Jr., as well as two step-children: Kelly Jacobs and her husband, Erik, of Poland, Ohio, and Kevin Lemley of Fairmont, West Virginia, and one granddaughter, Ryann Katherine Lemley.
In addition, he is survived by a sister, Maryann Goswick of Georgia, a brother, Edward E. Green of East Liverpool and a stepmother, Evelyn Green. He will also be sadly missed by his dogs, Tippy, Sami and Jazz.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.
Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
