Funeral services for Mr. James Anderson Couch, Jr., age 86, of Sarepta, LA, will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 12, 2021, at the Kings Corner Assembly of God, Sarepta, LA, with Rev. James Lowe, Rev. Gladney Hunt, and Rev. Vincent Buetel officiating. Interment will follow in State Line Cemetery, Taylor, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Mr. Couch was born on January 27, 1935 to James Anderson and Gladys Annie Smith Couch in Bloomburg, TX and passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Shreveport, LA. He retired after 30 years as a sheet finishing operator for International Paper Company. He enjoyed watching old westerns and country music shows, playing guitar, and singing for friends and family and at church. He was a die-hard Cubs fan.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years. Judy Mae Potts Couch; five sons, Charles Couch, Steve Couch, Danny Couch, Anthony Couch, Johnny Couch; two daughters, Laura Arnold, Belinda Umphries; LA; eighteen granddaughters, Michelle Couch-Alder, Amber Couch-Reeves, Chrystal Couch-McElduff, Victoria Danielle Couch, Alexis Rucker-Couch, Alyssa Eugenia Cross, Ashley Nicole Starling, Sarah Danelle Couch, Madison Couch-Richard, Audrey Grace Couch, Chloe Marie Wells, Ashley Arnold-Hunt, Caroline Arnold-Carnes, Kim Arnold-Fitzgerald, Brittnay Renee Tyson, Angel Lashay Tyson, Faith Nichole Tyson, Jenny Michelle Whitney; ten grandsons, Charles Davin Couch, Steven Jarrit Couch, Aydan Tyler Couch, Jonathan Blaine Couch, Jameson Neal Couch, Trenton Dean Couch, Travis Lee Couch, Ryan Edward Wells, Chad Michael McDonough, Christopher John McDonough; 40 great and great-great grandchildren, and one on the way; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jerrit Couch, Blaine Couch, Davin Couch, Aydan Couch, Kevin Umphries, and Gerald "Weasel" Ratliff. Honorary pallbearers will be the grand, great, and great-great grandsons of Mr. Couch.
