Scott Ray Grizzell, 69, of DuQuoin, Illinois passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 in Carbondale.
Scott was born May 7, 1952 in Herrin, Illinois to Charles Oren and Wilma (Hicks) Grizzell.
He is survived by a daughter, Scottrina Grizzell of Pinckneyville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dallas Dean and Mildred Grizzell of West Frankfort and Gary Gene and Pete Grizzell of Pinkneyville; a sister, Mary Martin of Christopher and several nieces and nephews.
His parents; two brothers, Charles Oren Grizzell, Jr. and Lyman Grizzell and a sister, Betty May Long preceded him in death.
Mr. Grizzell was a graduate of Zeigler Royalton High School and honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam era. He had worked in the coal mines and as a truck driver.
Memorial services for Mr. Grizzell will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler with Pastor James Clardy. Interment will be at the Mulkeytown cemetery with military rites courtesy of the Zeigler and Orient American Legions and the West Frankfort VFW. Visiting hours are from noon to 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
