Mike was born on January 12, 1953, to the late William and Myra (Peifer) Lore. On December 31, 1994, he married Sharalee Metz in Marion, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Myra and his niece Kimberlie Flowers (Colorado).
Mike was a long-standing member of the Moose Lodge #889, VFW, and American Legion. He retired as a machine operator from Uni-Grip, Inc. He loved telling stories and jokes for anyone and everyone. Mike enjoyed playing the guitar and was an amazing competitor when playing darts. He loved to gather with friends and family for a game of pool. He was a certified Karate instructor. He loved fishing and mushroom hunting. Words cannot describe how much Sherry, and his family and friends will miss him.
Those who will cherish his memories include his wife of 26 years: Sherry Metz-Lore of Marion, Ohio; his son: Chris Lore of Austin, Texas; his sisters: Susan (Lore) Solich of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Teresa (TJ) Lore-Harman of LaRue, Ohio; Sister-in-laws Rodella Metz, Holly Metz Place, Brother-in-law Wesley (RJ) Metz, Mike's granddaughter: Jessica Lore and fiancé Kevin Blackwell, Mike's great grandchildren: Griffin and Lucas; nephews Logan (Mikaela) Pierce (Colorado), Aaron Tumbleson (Marion Ohio), and niece Hannah Solich (Colorado) and Aunts Charlene (Steve) Monahan, Margaret Lore (California), Cousins and many great nephews that adored Uncle Mike. Mike brought the best out in everyone.
His family will be celebrating and honoring Mike's life on Friday, August 13, 2021, from 5pm to 8pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, starting at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow service at LaRue Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Mike's memory to the Boyd Funeral Home to assist in covering final expenses for his family. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Lore family.
