Marjorie Louise Monzingo was born Jan. 5, 1918, in Marshfield, Ore. She was the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Minnie Lee (Ross) Allison. She died Jan. 4, 2004, in Altus. She was a longtime resident of Altus and Jackson County, having resided here since 1929. She married Leroy Monzingo on March 11, 1934, in Mangum. He preceded her in death in 1954. She owned and operated a restaurant in Altus for 30 years. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: a son, Ken Monzingo of San Diego; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Jean Walker and sister Edith Hadley. Rosary service for Marjorie Louise Monzingo is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2004, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Joseph Arledge officiating.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Altus City Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Burr officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
