On March 12, 1955, in New Madrid, MO, he was united in marriage to Peggy Henson. She preceded him in death on November 26, 2018. He was also preceded by his sons, Joey Gilkey and Steve Gilkey; parents, Wiley and Naomi Martin Gilkey; sister, Ruby Wiles; brothers, Thurmon Gilkey, Joe Gilkey, Dean Gilkey and Bobby Gilkey.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, August 13, 2021 p.m. at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel. Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery of Clarkton, MO.
