Virginia Beach, VA - Roger D. Nelson, 79 passed away peacefully on August 11, 2021 with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosetta Chapman and his beloved daughter, Tracy E. Nelson. Roger was a graduate of Norview High School Class of 1960. In 2003, he retired from Naval Aviation Depot/Public Works, Norfolk, VA., after 32 years of service. He was past president and a lifetime member of The Chesapeake Athletic Club, avid golfer, and a diehard Redskins fan. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Carole, son, Roger Jr. and his precious grandson, James Tracy Nelson. A brother, Terry Nelson as well as several nieces and nephews. Roger is to be cremated and per his request and there will be no services. Colonial Crematorium is handling the arrangements.
