Billy Gene Boyd,age 90, passed away on July 28, 2021,at home in Sunrise Beach, Missouri. He was born June 6, 1931 in Carroll County, Tennessee.
He moved with his parents to Kansas City, Kansas in the early 1940's. He was a 1950 graduate of Argentine High School. He owned Johnson County Appliance for many years before selling the business and moving to Sunrise Beach, Missouri permanently and owning B&S Appliance Service until his retirement. Bill served his country in the Army Reserves and was a lifetime member of Zack Wheat American Legion Post #624 in Sunrise Beach and a charter member of the Osage Community Elks Lodge #2705 in Laurie Missouri.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ruby Boyd; brothers, Jerry and Harold Boyd; sister, Joan Gary; two sons, Robert and Larry Boyd and a step-daughter, Diane Hollenbeck all of the Kansas City area.
Bill leaves behind his loving companion of thirteen years, Jean Brown; son, Bill Boyd (Pam); daughter, Susan Nachbar; step-sons, Gary Buck (Cheryl) and Terry O'Neill; step-daughters, Cathie Peters (Ron) and Susan Augar (Dennis); fourteen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Kansas, Missouri, and Tennessee and countless friends.
The family would like to thank Hospice nurse, April and Bill's granddaughter, Cheryl Boyd for their nursing expertise in his final days. A special thanks to Jean Brown for thirteen years of love, care, and companionship for Bill. Also, Debbie Reynolds who helped Jean with care. Thank you to his dear friend and "adopted son" Barry Campbell for years of working with him and in Bill's later years helping him with the care that he needed.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Zack Wheat American Legion Post, 852 American Legion Road, Sunrise Beach, Missouri.
Inurnment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Laurie, Missouri.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
