John was born September 9, 1957, in Minneapolis, MN to Hugh Clemisher Knight and Mary Cecelia (Grandbois) Knight. He graduated from Boonville High School in 1976. John worked for the Vanderburgh Building Authority for 15 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, reading, writing poetry, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. John loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all who knew and loved him. John was a jack of all trades and enjoyed helping others. He was never apart from his beloved pet and best friend, Cooper. John was a gardening enthusiast and looked forward to sharing his harvest with family and friends. He was loved by many and his memory will live on through the years by those whose lives he touched.
John is survived by his son, John K. Knight (Danielle); daughter, Krista Knight (Nick); sisters, Brenda Kramer and Nancy Raino; grandchildren, Maxwell, Vincent, Kaden, Michael, and Ledger; several nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Mary; brother, Terence Knight who passed away August 7, 2021; sister, Lindy Grandbois; infant brother; and twin grandsons, Ethan & Logan Knight.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 16, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time.
