Martha Susan Creech Caldwell, also affectionately known as Sudie Creech, 92 years of age, departed this life on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 in Somerset, Kentucky.
Martha was born in Laurel County, Kentucky on November 28th, 1928, daughter of Enoch Bently Creech and Hattie Blanche Setser Creech. Martha was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Clifty Grove Baptist Church.
Martha was survived by five children, Lena Mink Pryor, Larry Caldwell, Tony (and Melissa) Caldwell, Bernetta (and Morris) Walker, and Billie (and Ray) Claunch; ten grandchildren, Tina Mink, Tanya (and G.W.) Coffey, Jousha (and Sara) Mounce, Jacob (and Katelyn) Mounce, Tyler Caldwell, Cortney Caldwell, David (and Kayla) Caldwell, Caleb (and McKayla) Walker, Macie (and Tory) Kidd, and Katelyn Claunch; a son-in-law, L.E. Mounce; and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Enoch Creech, who departed this life on May 13th, 1969 and Blanche Creech, who departed this life on Christmas Day, December 25th, 1977; her loving husband, Virgil Wilk Caldwell, whom she married in Laurel County, Kentucky on March 26th, 1946 and who departed this life on December 20th, 1960; one son, Virgil Glenn Caldwell, who died in infancy on January 13th, 1950; one daughter, Lois Cladwell Mounce, who departed this life on March 29th, 2020; five brothers, Glenn Creech, Harold Creech, Art Creech, Arlan Creech, and Russell Creech; and one sister, Edna Creech.
Visitations were held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12th, 2021 at the Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 13th, 2021 in the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home.
Burial followed in the Clay Hill Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
