"Death of Mrs. Mary A. Caulkins.

Mrs. Mary Ann Caulkins, widow of the late Captain H. W. Caulkins, died last Thursday at 2:30 p. m., at the home of her niece, Miss Emma Stillwell, in Tioga, aged 77 years. She was the daughter of Major Seth Daggett, one of the pioneer settlers of Tioga. She was the last one of a family of nine children. The surviving members of her own family are: Mrs. Robert Parks, Mrs. Emma Someringdyke and Hiram Caulkins, all residents of Wallawalla, Wash. Most of her life was spent in Tioga, though she lived for a few years in Elmira, where her sons, William and Hiram, were compositors on the Advertiser and Telegram, and ten years with her daughters in Wallawalla, Wash. The last years of her life were spent in Tioga. She belonged to an old and well known family and has relatives in Bellefonte, Tioga and in the West. A grandson, Fred Caulkins, is shipping clerk for the Lehigh Valley railroad in Elmira. Two granddaughters, Isedore and Georgia, of New York, also survive her.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Mr. Bell, pastor of St. Andrew's church, officiating; burial in Evergreen cemetery."
