He was born January 26, 1926 in Payson, Utah, a son of Amos Pierre and Delia Eliza Taft Fordham. He married Florence Regenia Beacham, April 12, 1947 in Tooele, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple September 3, 1963. Max served in the US Army during World War II. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He served as a Bishop. He was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award from the BSA. He was a school teacher in the Granite School District.
He will be missed by his wife of Lyman; children, Pierre M. and Deanne Fordham of West Valley City; Robert K. and Debra Fordham of Hurricane; Michael R. and Patsy Fordham of Lyman; Ann and Ron Allen of Stansbury Park; Kathleen and David Urry of Lehi; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Paul and Faun Fordham of Taylorsville; Ethel Busenbark of Kearns; LaRue and Nad Rasmussen of Loa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Blake Fordham, Seth Fordham, and Richard Fordham.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1, 1997 at 1 p.m. in the Lyman LDS Ward chapel, where friends may call for viewing, Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, from 11 to 12:30 prior to the services.
Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92, in the Lyman Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina.
