Edith Lena (Law) Adams, 95, of Denver, Colorado went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2021. She was at Mapleton Care Center, Denver, Colorado.
Edith was born November 30, 1925, in Kiowa, Kansas to Walter A and Violet (Crouse) Law.
She was saved at Kiowa, Kansas and baptized at Alva, Oklahoma November 15, 1936.
She attended Kiowa grade school, junior high. She took her first two years at Kiowas High School, Kiowa Kansas, but finished her last two years and graduated from Sharon High School, Sharon Kansas in 1943.
On September 9, 1941, she eloped with the love of her life, Keith Allison Adams of Sharon, Kansas. They were married at Cherokee, Oklahoma. They made their home with his parents on the Adams farm seven miles north of Sharon where two sons and two daughters were born.
They moved to Liberal, Kansas where Keith worked in the oilfields. Another daughter was born. They moved with the oilfield to Woodward, Oklahoma, to Sallisaw, Oklahoma and back to Woodward, Oklahoma. Mr. Adams is buried, in 1995. They were married 54 years.
Edith enjoyed spending time fishing with Keith and helping him on the farm. She loved gardening, growing flowers. She also enjoyed working with the Brownie troops and Girl Scouts in Woodward. She took pleasure babysitting for the Methodist and Baptist programs. She moved to Liberal 2003 and enjoyed the programs at the Cottages and quilting with her eldest daughter.
In 2011, she moved to Lakewood, Colorado to live with her son until 2021 when she entered the Mapleton Care Center in Lakewood.
Survivors include daughter, Sherrilyn Polf and husband Dewey, Tyrone, Oklahoma; son, Marion Adams, Lakewood, Colorado; daughter, Patricia Scroggins and husband Chris, Yukon, Oklahoma; daughter Karen Wellman and husband Todd, Woodward, Oklahoma. SIBLINGS: Mary Kay and husband Lindell, Perkins, Oklahoma; Eva Joan Burkett, Enid, Oklahoma. GRANDCHILDREN: Bobi (Adams) Frederick; Rob Adams and wife Beth; Rami (Adams) Cox and husband Marc; Kristi (Polf) Winner and husband Mark; Jerimy Polf and wife, Holly; Lyndsey (Scroggins) Perry and husband Josh; Carissa (Scroggins) Ruminski
and husband Tyler; Trey Wellman; Hunter Wellman and wife, Daurice. And d"bonus" granddaughter April Moore Ragan.
Fifteen great-grandchildren and, six great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Robert, a brother, Robert Law, sisters, Veda White, Wilma Ruth Law, Myra Darlena Law. One great-grandson, Camden Wellman.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the Faith United Methodist Church, Woodward, Oklahoma. Interment Elmwood Cemetery to follow.
