Barberton - A loving, devoted couple, Jared and Caitlin Davis were loved by family, friends and colleagues. The story of the couple began on July 20, 1983 upon the birth of Jared, the son of Robert D. and Therese Berkich Davis of Barberton, Ohio. He was a graduate of Norton High School and enjoyed playing soccer. Jared was a proud Eagle Scout and loved adventure.

Seven years later in Ravenna, Ohio on May 1, 1990, Caitlin Marie was lovingly welcomed into the world by her parents, David and Cheryl Pettit Wert. Caitlin was a 2008 graduate of Ravenna High School and continued her education at Kent State University, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Education in 2013. Caitlin was a gifted athlete who participated in cross country and track.

Jared was employed by Sound & Vision, Inc. in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He started out as an Installation Technician and would eventually be promoted to Lead Technician and Programmer. He will be greatly missed by his customers and co-workers.

Her career began in the Stark County school systems, where she had been nominated twice for Teacher of the Year. She was awarded Teacher of the Year from SST9 during her tenure with Dalton Local Schools. Currently, Caitlin was an intervention specialist at the Copley-Fairlawn Middle School. Caitlin loved her students and was a compassionate and an amazing educator.

Caitlin and Jared came together while working out at a fitness center. They became friends. That friendship developed into love. After meeting Jared, Caitlin knew that she had met the love of her life. They were united in marriage on August 15, 2015. They loved each other and were inseparable. Caitlin was an incredible soul and Jared was her soulmate.

Caitlin loved Jared for his fun loving and caring ways. He had a great smile and was a best friend to all. Jared was a kid at heart, he enjoyed building cars, collecting comic books and Marvel and DC characters. Caitlin loved to add to his Marvel collection. They cherished spending time with their nieces, nephews and cousins. He loved going to Magic City Brewing Company especially when Caitlin was working there. The couple enjoyed hiking, spending time with their friends and family and trips to the outer banks with family.

Upon their marriage, Jared and Caitlin brought their families together. Treasured memories of the Jared and Caitlin will be carried on by their parents, David and Cheryl Wert and Therese and Robert "Bob" Davis; her brother, Andrew (Colleen) Wert and daughter, Rileigh; his sisters, Hallie (John) Johnson and children, Stephen, Jacob and Evelyn, Jessica (Bo) Williams and son, Ty, and Lisa ( Terry) Harbaugh and children, Hannah and Nolan; her aunts and uncles, Lynn (Steve) Wagner, Kevin (Mary) Wert, Christopher Wert, Bruce (Hilda) Pettit, Deb (Ken) Oldham, Darrell (Joanne) Pettit and Todd Pettit; her cousins, Brian (Leanne) Wagner, Robert (Bethany) Wagner, Carrie (Patrick)Henry, Kenny (Margaret) Oldham, Cory (Bri) Oldham, Josh Pettit, Seth Pettit, Cheyenne Pettit, Patrick (Megan) Fox, Kristi Yearian, Donald (Lyndsey) Eastman, Jamie Wert, Daniel Wert; a host of second cousins; two furbabies, Teddy and Opie; and their many friends.

Preceding Caitlin in death were her uncle, James Wert and her grandparents, Noble and Clarice Pettit and Robert and Monie Wert and Jared's grandparents.

A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Windham Congregational United Church of Christ, 9029 N. Main Street, Windham, Ohio 44288 with Pastor Brad Edder officiating.

There will be a private Interment for Jared and Caitlin in the Windham Township Cemetery.

The family has requested that flowers be omitted and that material tributes may be made in their names to the Autism Society of Greater Akron, 580 Grant Street, Akron, Ohio 44311 or to the Summit County Animal Protective League, 7996, Darrow Road, Suite 30, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.

A ray of sunshine has been taken from us too soon, to shine brighter in Heaven. Deeply loved and forever missed until we meet them again.
