Steven Edward Bennett, 66, of Newark, California, passed away surrounded by friends and family on May 8th at Kaiser Permanente in Fremont, California.

Steven was born in Chicago, Illinois to David Franklin Bennett and Dolores Fay Bennett. He grew up with brothers William and Thomas. As a child, Steven and his family moved to San Jose where he attended Piedmont High School.

He had a long career working in telecommunications specializing in customer relations in the Asia Pacific. In Steven's free time he enjoyed watching basketball and listening to his favorite artist Bob Dylan. In addition to sports and music, family was very important to Steve. He spent almost every day this last year calling his loved ones to check in.

He is survived by His mother, Dolores Bennett, His two brothers, William Bennett,and Thomas Bennett, his wife Tamara Bennett, and daughter, Sadie Bennett, and numerous nephews and nieces. The funeral will take place on June 5th at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Manteca, CA at 11 AM
