In June of 1862 he enlisted in Lochopolke, AL and served the Confederacy in Co K, 47th Al Inf, Jackson's Division, (then Hood's Division), Army of Northern Virginia. He was taken Prisoner at Gettysburg, PA on 2 JUL 1863 and confined at Ft Delaware, DE until the end of the war in 1865.
Received pension #27025.
