Dorothy Brockway

Dorothy Caroline Brockway, 90, of Mediapolis, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at Community Care of America in Mediapolis.

Born Oct. 15, 1906, in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of Andrew and Ann Dravis Kneedy. She married Everett Burr Brockway on June 4, 1925, in Burlington. He died Nov. 17, 1971.

Mrs. Brockway was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.

Survivors, include two sons, Roy Brockway of Mediapolis and Keith Brockway of Oakville; four daughters, Darlene Brown of Mediapolis, Evelyn Fuhrer of Burlington, Lila Bakerink of Mediapolis and Karen Elkin of Wapello; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one brother-in-law.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, and one brother.

Friends may call from noon to 6 p.m. Monday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis. There will be no family visitation.

THe funeral for Mrs. Brockway will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Gaulke officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
