Monroe - William J. Siegel (Bill) was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and was very devoted to his family. Born on December 14, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late William R. and Marie I. Siegel. He graduated in 1947 from De La Salle Collegiate in Detroit, Michigan. Bill also met the love of his life, Dolores C. Szajner, in 1947 at Bob-Lo Island Amusement Park. After four years of on-again, off-again dating, they were married on January 19, 1952, in St. Lawrence Church, Detroit.

Bill, age 92 of Monroe, formerly of Carleton, went to be with his maker on Friday, August 6, 2021, while at home under the loving care of his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dolores, infant son Robert Siegel, son-in-law Kevin Hassell, sister Joann Craft, and sister-in-law Gayle Siegel.

Bill served his country honorably as an MP in the United States Army from 1951-1953. He worked at Ford Motor Company for 30 years having received a certificate for Metal Patternmaking in 1962 and retiring in 1987 as a Pattern Design Draftsman. In retirement, he traveled the world with his lovely bride, having gone on numerous cruises from Alaska to Hawaii to the Caribbean and to the Mediterranean. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, currently holding office of treasurer at Council 15932 at Divine Grace Parish in Carleton, Michigan. He was also a long time Boy Scout master for troop 511 in Carleton, Michigan, held office in the Wolverine Council, and was a member of the Order of the Arrow Lodge.

To cherish his memory, Bill leaves his children, William (Patricia) Siegel of Carleton, Beverly (David) Pyle of Flat Rock, Mary Hassell of Flat Rock, Joseph Siegel of Maybee, Peggy (Rus) Guyot of Taylor, and Nancy (Timothy) Tanguay of Gibraltar; grandchildren, Jaremy (Deanna) Pyle, Angela (Marc) Strong, Andrea (Matt) Podhola, Matthew (Autum) and Michael Tanguay, Samantha (Kevin) Gist, Adam, Jacob, Levi, Weston and Carly Siegel, Eugene, Benjamin and George Peterson, and Frank and Steven Hassell; and great-grandchildren, Bethany and Sebastian Pyle, Ethan, Tristan and Brennan Strong, Lily and Layne Podhola, and Hailey, Averie, Molly, and Harper Tanguay. Bill also leaves his sister Patricia (Herman) Lucius of New Reigel, OH, brother Robert Siegel of Upper Sandusky, OH, and brother-in-law Gary Craft of Carey, OH.

Family and friends may visit Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rupp Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. by Deacon Tracey Esper followed by the eulogy given by eldest grandson Jaremy. Bill will lie in state Monday, August 9, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Divine Grace Parish (St. Patrick Church), Carleton, where he had been a member for almost 50 years. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Mike Woroniewicz. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Carleton. Memorial donations may be made to Divine Grace Parish.
