Clara Ann Morrison Bailey
2-17-1932 ~ 5-4-2020

Clara Ann Bailey, age 88, a native of Morgan City, LA. passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 4, 2020 at her home in Biloxi.

"On a quiet Wednesday evening in the year of 1932, in Morgan City, Louisiana, God bestowed upon this world an angel in his own image. This young soul would soon grow to touch the lives of many and serve as a beacon of love and hope to all those close to her.

Clara Ann Morrison Bailey, most known as "Maw Maw", was born on February 17th, 1932. One of twelve siblings, she hardly blended in. She grew up fast meeting her husband, Shirley Bailey, around the age of 16 and soon after had their first child. From that moment on, she dedicated her life to loving her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Maw Maw loved unconditionally and with all of her heart. She refused to see the bad in people, sometimes to a fault, but it proved that love can persevere all. Maw Maw loved her family deeply and because of that, no matter what pain or suffering we faced, we could take comfort in knowing her loved existed and would protect us.
She didn't always say much but she was an incredible listener. Even if she wasn't familiar with the subject, she followed along with every word. Unbeknownst to us, she was teaching us mindfulness. More importantly, she was giving us the gift of the present moment. She could make you feel so special with her undivided attention.
Maw Maw loved her family, her God, and her flowers. She had the natural ability to help things grow. You never went hungry around her and she always went out of her way to make you feel at home. It doesn't take long to realize that it was because of her love that all things thrived in her light. Like the sun feeding her flowers, her love shined to nourish our souls.

From a humble home on the coast of Mississippi, her impact stretched across great distances. She taught us many lessons and often had great advice, but above all she taught us how to love one another. Thanks to her we've been able to impact the many lives of others in a positive way. In her honor we will continue sharing that love with others and creating good in the world.
