Russell Eldon Sharp, 93, of Billings, OK passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2021 after a brief illness. He enjoyed the final weeks of his life surrounded by his family.
Russell was born on August 18, 1927 at Konawa, OK. He was the oldest of 5 children born to Ewuell and Emmalee Sharp. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bob Sharp and Bill Sharp and sister, Faye Sharp Alley.
Russell and his wife, Mary Lou were married Dec. 13, 1949. They made their home in the Billings area where they farmed and raised their family. He enjoyed spending time with his family, farming with his son and raising wheat and cattle. Russell enjoyed his many years of living in the Billings area and reminisced on the way things used to be when Billings was as he called it, "a thriving little community". He was a WW II Merchant Marine Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, of the home, Mary Lou Sharp, three children, Laura Smith (and husband, Ted of Stillwater, OK), Kirt Wayne Sharp (and wife, Regina of Billings, OK) and Jo Lynne Stephens (and husband, Steve of Stillwater, OK). He was also blessed to be the grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his youngest sister, Barbara Sharp Brown of OKC and numerous nieces and nephews.
