John Allen Deaton passed away on December 26, 2020 in Tyler, Texas at the age of 65. He was born on May 13, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to Billy Deaton and Betty Lou Pease Deaton.

He was a retired Paramedic who served over 48 years, 38 of which was with Titus Regional Medical Center. John mentioned in a recent interview with TRMC that over his career he has filled many positions, to include; hospital security, maintenance, surgery aid, ICU tech, ER paramedic, EMS acting Chief, cook, educator, vehicle purchaser, maintenance supervisor, and street medic.

John is survived by his loving wife, Anne Apperley; stepson and spouse, David and Sara Apperley; grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, and Eli.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, with burial to take place at 2:00 PM at Emory City Cemetery in Emory, Texas.
