Jason Lee Powell, 53, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Shands at UF Hospital in Gainesville. He was born in Hampton, Virginia on September 4, 1967 and has made Lake City his home most of his life. He was a truck driver by trade for over 25 years and in his spare time; he enjoyed singing karaoke, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Harrington and brother, Johnathan Powell.

 

He is survived by his sons, David Powell (Heather Rose), William Powell (JoJo Vaughan) and Jason C. Powell (Ashley) all of Lake City; his significant other of 11 years, Sheila Burton of Lake City; grandmother, Shirley Neslon of Lake Butler; brother, Nathan Powell of Jasper. Sixteen grandchildren and many extended family members and friends also survive.

 

A memorial service for Mr. Powell will be conducted on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel.
