Edna Jane Sumrall Hill, known to most as "Edna", passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Strong River Villa Assisted Living in Mendenhall. Prior to moving to Mendenhall on May 15, 2015, Edna and her late husband, John, lived most of their lives in the Jackson metro area.
Edna was born December 3, 1928, in Jones County and was a graduate of Calhoun High School. She married Johnnie Carroll Hill on June 5, 1948, and they were 68 years together before he passed in 2016.
She is survived by daughters, Linda Ward and husband David, and Janice Covert and husband Steve; grandchildren, Jonathan Shook and wife Susannah, and Faith Kennedy and husband Brian; and great-grandchildren, Meredith Shook, Anna Shook, Wesley Shook, Audrey Shook, Dylan Kennedy and wife Hayden, Mason Kennedy, Benjamin Kennedy, and John Caden Kennedy.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Lakewood South Cemetery in Jackson.
