Robert C. Briggs Sr., 83, Died after a long battle with COPD August 4, 2021, at home surrounded by family.

He was born January 14, 1938, in Roswell, New Mexico, He was the son of Howard Sidney Briggs and Thelma Lucile Briggs (Tapley).

Robert joined the United States Air Force August 1, 1955, and was stationed at Ardmore Air Force Base, Oklahoma until Ardmore syndrome sent home with an honorable discharge April 25, 1956. Robert then married his lifelong partner Margaret Nevada Briggs (Collins) on March 7, 1959 and they renewed their vows on March 7, 2020. Robert worked mostly in mechanics, truck driver, and farming. His passion was always family first, keeping his children in line, working on old cars, being outdoors, playing the guitar, and playing with his tractor, all in all he was just a good old country boy and a very loved man. Save us a place in Heaven daddy.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Bernice (Billie) Ashcraft, his brother Jimmy Mick, his sister Wanda Cain survived by her husband Buddy Cain, his brother Howard Briggs and his wife Judy Briggs, his brother Dale Briggs, his brother Briggs and his wife Becky Briggs, his brother Harold Joe Briggs survived by his wife Nancy Briggs, his son Howard Briggs, his granddaughter Samantha Tyler, grandson Kelly Andrews, William Clothier, son-in-law David Melton, several aunts and uncles, and several who didn't survive birth.

Surviving is his wife Margaret Briggs, his children, Kathy Denton and husband Jack of Glendale, Arizona, Margaret Fulwider and her husband Ed of Roswell, NM, Robert Briggs Jr. and his wife Connie of Roswell, Carolyn Sue Tyler and her husband Clifford of Dexter NM, Michael Briggs and his wife Lisa of Dexter, Mollie Clothier and her husband Del of Hobbs, NM, Tracy Briggs of Dexter, Linda Chamblee and her husband Gary of Hagerman, NM, Brenda Pitzer and her husband Gene of Lake Arthur, NM, Steven Briggs of Dexter, Nancy Briggs (Goode) and Jerry of Dexter, Robin Anderson and her husband Michael of Roswell, Brenda Briggs of Dexter, Steven (AKA Scooter) Briggs of Dexter, Grandchildren Thelma, Travis, Connie, Rachel, Alex, Robert V, Shannon V, Christine, Brandon, Robert 3rd, Michael, John, Dusty, Casey, Melissa, Laicho, Jerri, Robert, Cory, Sherri, Melodie, Ashley, Alaxandra, Billy, Amanda, Benjamin, Destri, Corey, Bobbie, Michael, Danyle, Justin, Vivian, Margaret, James, Stephanie, Koda, Nicolette, Lacie, Jacklyn, Devin, John. Funeral arrangements are being made by Anderson Bethany. All day viewing August 10, 2021 from 9 A.M. till 5:00 P.M. Graveside services will be held at South Park Cemetery 3101 S. Main Street, Roswell, NM at 10:00 A.M. August 11, 2021, followed by potluck at the Fraternal Order of Eagles located at 3201 S. Sunset, Roswell, N.M. at 12:00 to 3:00 P.M. Instead of flowers, please donate to any legal COPD Foundation.
