Peter "Pete" Nathan Jones, 73, of Delaware passed away Friday evening, August 6, 2021 at his residence.

He was born January 6, 1948 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Nathan "Casey" Jones and Eileen (Thompson) Jones. He attended St. Mary High School until its closing in 1965 and graduated from Delaware Hayes High School in 1966. On July 22, 1972, he married the love of his life, Karen Sue Lea at St. Mary Catholic Church. Together they shared 49 wonderful years of marriage.

Pete worked in the furniture business for over 30 years and then went on to become the facilities director of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio. He also drove for DATA for 5 years.

Pete was an avid and faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was also a member of the Delaware Eagles #376 and the AmVets Post #102. He also was a devoted volunteer with the annual John Freeman's "Whatever you think it's worth breakfast" and could often be found offering coffee, donuts and selling tickets to those waiting in line.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Karen and his daughter Stephanie Jones of Hilliard.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his sisters Salle VanCooney and Judy Linder.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 10:30 – 11:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 82 E. William Street, Delaware, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am with Rev. Fr. Brett Garland officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
