Susan Lynn Robinson Morris, 69, of Lake Charles passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021, by the side of her loving husband.

Susan was born on September 3, 1951, in Lake Charles where she lived her entire life. Susan was a graduate of Lake Charles High School and McNeese State University, which she attended on a State Board of Education Scholarship. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from McNeese in December 1972 and was honored to be first in her graduating class. She was also selected for "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities." After earning her teaching degree, Susan taught and touched the lives of many Calcasieu Parish students in elementary, middle, and high school until she retired. She loved Mardi Gras and was honored to be Queen of both Krewe de la Famille and Krewe Des Amis. She was also a Duchess for Krewe De La Contree. Susan was a past member of the Junior League of Lake Charles and present member of PEO. She was also a devoted member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of more than 49 years, Darrell Morris; children, Rob Morris (Keri), Julie van Weelden (Berry), and Lisa Harris (Nick); and six grandchildren, soon to be seven, Michael and Sarah Morris, Mark, Elisabeth, and Bobby Harris, and Alexander van Weelden.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Claiborne and Helen Robinson and unborn twin grandchildren, Amalia and Banyan van Weelden.

Susan's final wish is that her family and friends celebrate her life instead of mourning her passing. She wants everyone to know that she lived the most wonderful life, married the perfect husband, and is so proud of her children and grandchildren. She traveled to places she never dreamed she would go and experienced everything life had to offer. She lived a full life.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. The Rev. Alan Trouille will officiate. Cremation will follow entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at University Baptist Church on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.

In lieu of flowers, Susan's family asks that donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center gifts.mdanderson.org or Angel Fund angelfundsite.org.
