He was born in Magoffin County, Kentucky the son of Jasper Jenkins and Isabell Phipps. On May 11, 1898 Raney married Jahazie Montgomery daughter of Benjamin Montgomery and Sarah Ellen (Gillum) Montgomery, in Grey Fox, Kentucky. Their children are Clerindia, Frona, Luster, Hoyie, Lola Alice, Augustus, Grover, Helen, Roscoe who died at age 5, Tennessee and Curtis. Raney and Jahazie both died in Beaver, Ohio and both are buried at Jenkins Cemetery on Rockhouse Creek Road, Magoffin, Kentucky. Raney V. Jenkins married Johase Montgomery on 11 May 1898 at Ben
