James Thomas (Tom) Carney, born March 22, 1941. Baptized in the hope of Christ's resurrection August 6, 2021.

Tom was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Elizabeth and James Carney and had 3 siblings. He and Jeanne Moellering Carney recently celebrated 58 years of marriage and were blessed with 3 children as well as 7 beautiful grandchildren.

Tom was raised in Ferguson and spent most of his life in Chesterfield. His career was in sales for several companies including Drackett, Purex and Revlon. Tom loved spending time with friends and family, particularly at the Lake of the Ozarks. He was a proud member of the St. Patrick's Day parade committee. Tom had a lifelong love of youth sports and coached his children and grandchildren in soccer and baseball. He and Jeanne traveled throughout the United States and the world, including several cruises with their grandchildren and a memorable trip to Ireland. He was beloved by all who knew him and never met a stranger. He always had a witty remark and a smile on his face accompanied by his notable piercing blue eyes. His kids would say that Tom had superhuman strength and could fix or rig anything.

Tom was preceded in death by his son David, parents Elizabeth and James Carney, sister Pat Leonard, and brother Jerry. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, son Dr. Michael Carney (Karen), daughter Julie and grandkids, John, Brendan, Patrick, Shannon, Sean, Melanie and James and his sister, Kathleen Bomardieri.

Services will be held at Incarnate Word Parish, 13416 Olive Blvd. on Saturday, August 14. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m.with funeral mass to follow at 10:00. All are welcome to attend a celebration of life get-together at the MAC west, 1777 Des Peres Road, immediately following Mass.
