Joan P. Meyer, 90, of Marinette passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021, at the Luther Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 15, 1930 in Marinette, Wisconsin to Ralph and Genevieve Shaver. She spent most of her childhood in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan where she graduated from Sault Ste. Marie High School in 1948. Shortly after moving back to Marinette, Joan met the love of her life and married Milton C. Meyer on October 21, 1950. She was his "Little Petunia" and they shared nearly 60 years of life together. Joan worked as a waitress at Schloegel's Restaurant and was a member of the singing group Sweet Adelines for many years.

She loved enjoying the simple things in life such as spending time with her family, camping, picnics, attending church, going to bingo, playing cards and countless puzzle nights with family and friends. She was an avid Bucks and Packers fan. Joan also had a knack for baking and making homemade jam. You never left the house without a jar of strawberry jam or a tin full of sugar cookies around Christmas time. This tradition carries on with her daughter, Debbie. If it was your birthday, you looked forward to her birthday cake with that secret homemade frosting recipe because nobody made it quite like her. Joan was a devout Catholic and longtime member of Holy Family Parish. She will be most remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Spending time with her great grandchildren always brought a smile to her face. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Joan is survived by her children, son, David (Jeanne) Meyer; daughter, Debra Meyer (Todd); daughter, Donna Johnson; daughter, Dianne (Mark) Priebe; daughter, Judy (Michael) Gerondale; son, Michael (Marlene) Meyer; son, Joseph Meyer (Lori); grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kari (Bruce) Anderson and daughter, Kayli; Marc (Margie) Meyer and daughter, Juniper; Megan (Kevin) Haemker and daughters, Harper, Callie and Nova; Jennifer (Brandon) Laundree and daughters, Quinn and Cora; Ryan (Erica) Ilse and daughter, Harlowe; Ashley Teasdale (Ben and son, Noah); Alyson Teasdale and son, Nolan; Kevin (Pamela) Johnson and children, Elle, Adrienne (Caleb) Tuning and Nikki (Patrick) Walther; Cory (Amy) Johnson and son Peyton; Jeremiah Johnson; Matt (Jessica) Zeratsky and daughters, Natalie and Matalyn; Tara (Tom) Lund and daughters, Freya and Ingrid; William (Tracy) Priebe and daughter, Atoli; Jacob Gerondale; Ben (Cheryl) Gerondale and sons, Dean and Dylan; Adam Meyer; Brittany Meyer; Angie Buchberger and daughter Nova; Samantha Buchberger and daughter Zoey; Marissa Meyer; Aaron Meyer; great-great-grandchildren: Zoe, Atticus, and Nora Jean Tuning; brother, Richard (Dorothy) Shaver; sister, Karolyn Shaver Olson; sisters-in-law, Fay Meyer and Marie Shaver.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton Meyer; brother, John Shaver; brother-in-law, Ronald Meyer; and a great-grandson, Drew Gerondale.

Visitation will be at Holy Family Parish-Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Taylor St. on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. A funeral mass will be offered at noon by the Reverend Celestine Byekwaso followed by burial at Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette.

A special thank you is extended to the Luther Home Activities Dept., nurses and CNA's and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care provided to Joan and family.
