William Brodie Mercer, of Woodville, TX, passed away on July 23, 2021. He was born on September 5, 1959, in Garland, TX to William & Bettie Lou (Dillard) Mercer.

Mr. Mercer served in the United States Army Special Forces and retired after 21 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Violeta Silva Mercer; daughter & son-in-law, Bettie Lou & Stephen DeGracia & their child, Benjamin Brodie DeGracia, son, William Raymond Mercer & his child, William Fitzgerald Mercer; daughter, Lucinda Elizabeth Oglesby and her child, Breyson David Oglesby; step-sons, Selvin Alonso Zuniga Silva, Isaac Alejandro Zuniga Silva, Wilfred Aaron Zuniga Silva; sister, Dede Diane Mager and her children, Andrew Brodie Landry & Melissa Ann Moon.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, July 30, 2021, at the Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
