A service celebrating the life of Hermie Monroe Turner, 92 of Corinth will be held Monday, August 9, 2021 at 2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home – South Chapel with interment to follow at Shiloh Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Monday, August 9, 2021 from 1pm until service time. Her grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Born November 10, 1928 in Blackland, MS to the late Curtis Ray and Florence Green Monroe, Hermie received the promises of her faith and met her Creator at her residence surrounded by her family on Friday, August 6, 2021. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother she left a legacy of Faith, Love and Determination, which through her consistent examples, she passed on to her family. She married Clayton Turner on March 9, 1945, a marriage of 75 years until Clayton's death. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she served as Children's Director.

Hermie enjoyed watching ballgames (especially supporting MS State Bulldogs), completing puzzles, cooking and spending time with her family. She loved her children and grandchildren and spent many hours supporting them in their competitions.
She worked with her husband on their dairy farm before getting a public job as a cafeteria cook at Gift School. She later worked at Wurlitzer and ITT from which she retired.
Memorial contributions in Hermie memory may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 31 CR 754, Corinth, MS 38834.

Hermie is survived by her 5 children, Joe Turner (Martha Jo), Johnny Turner, Sandra Talley, Amy Taylor (Steven) and Wanda Williams (James); 11 grandchildren, Danny Joe Turner(Renee'), Emily Bradley (Keith), Chris Talley, Beth Cossitt (Deryl), Brad Talley(Julie), Clay Turner(Lorrie), Clarice Bullock, Arianne Kapt, Katie Tomaszewski (Codye), Michael Taylor (Katie) and Amanda Janes (Landon); 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; grandson, Justin Williams; son-in-law, Leamon Talley; sister, Ray Ann Woodruff; and brother, Frank Monroe.
