Dorothy Mae Childers Murray, 76, of Harleyville, wife of John Sims Murray, Jr., entered into eternal rest on August 6, 2021 at Trident Medical Center.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Monday at Indian Field United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Howard Proveaux officiating.

Dorothy was born on December 13, 1944, in Manning, SC, a daughter of the late George William and Maude Alice Cutter Childers. She was a member of the St. George Pentecostal Holiness Church and a homemaker. She was predeceased by siblings, George Edward Childers, Jeanette C. Smoak, James William Childers, Louis Thomas Childers, John Alvin Childers, Charles Childers; grandchildren, Joshua Savage and Carl Alewine.

Surviving is her husband of 47 years, John S. Murray, Jr., Harleyville; sons, John Cecil (Theresa) Savage, Dorchester and John Sims Murray, III, Harleyville; daughters, Alice (James) Clark, Brenda (Ricky) Littell and Barbara Annette (John) Moody, all of Harleyville; sisters, Betty C. Murray, Harleyville and Doris C. Robinson, Sumter; grandchildren, Brandon Clark, Jordan Clark, Chris Sible, Jennifer Minus, John Savage, James Savage, Jeremy Savage, Kayla Fralix, David Fralix, John Moody, Jr., Angel Moody, Kevin Moody, Victoria Murray and John S.
