Cecil "Pat" Patterson was born on 8 April 1930, at the beginning of The Great Depression, in Heidrick, Kentucky. Pat graduated from Knox Central High School and after working in town and then in Detroit Michigan on the Edsel assembly line, he joined the US Air Force at the height of the Korean War. Pat met a beautiful Latina in south San Antonio right after basic training and, within six weeks they were married. She became his wife on 4 December 1954. And true to their vows, it was until death did they part. They were married for over 67 years.

Pat served in the Air Force for 26 years and three days. He had two tours in Korea, he volunteered for two tours in Vietnam, manning the radio and the boom of an in-flight refueling aircraft for nearly 20 years throughout it all. Once grounded, he became a Drill Sergeant at Lackland Air Force base for the remainder of his Air Force career. Pat retired as a First Master Sergeant. He would have made chief, but he preferred to fly than take the courses you needed to get the next stripe. He would always say he preferred the mission over the politics.

Upon retiring from the Air Force, Pat got his associate's degree, then his bachelor's degree, then his realtor's license, then his appraiser's license, then his broker's license. But he realized he was better at telling people what to do (think Drill Sergeant) so he took a job as a Floor Manager of Personnel at Foley's Department Store in North Star Mall. There he was quickly promoted to Store Manager where he finished another career as 'the best-dressed man in the mall'.

When he retired, They moved out to Cypress Cove in Spring Branch, TX, where they drove into town for work every day; back when there was a flashing yellow light at the intersection of 1604 and 281N, and nothing but deer on the road until you got to the Guadalupe River. They lived in that same house for 45 years. Pat loved his 1959 Mercedes Benz 190SL, which he often drove to work at Foley's until the Mall Police asked him to stop driving it to work because they would have to sit right next to it to keep people from sitting in it and taking pictures.

He is survived by his beautiful and loving wife, sisters, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives an many friends.

Rest in peace, sir.
