She attended District #35 school and farmed with her parents 10 miles north of Columbus. Later, she moved to Columbus where she worked as a cook at Columbus Junior High School and as a baker at Gloor Bakery. After her retirement, she continued baking, gardening, canning and created beautiful afghans and quilts. She was a member of Redeemer Baptist Church and attended Highland Park Evangelical Free Church in her later years.
