A Life Celebration for Leslie will be held at a later date.

Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home of Quincy, IL.

Leslie was born on October 5, 1971 in Wichita Falls, TX to James Ronald Myers and Drenda Riley Myers Curtis.

Leslie is survived by her mother, Drenda Curtis of Quincy, IL; her son, Riley Curtis Myers of Quincy, IL; one sister, Dawn Myers Rand (Eric) of Medford, OR; and one special brother, Clif Curtis of Quincy, IL.

Leslie is preceded in death by her father, James Ronald Myers; her "bonus father", Juan Ramon Curtis; and her grandparents, Otis and Mary Myers and Roscoe and Thelma Riley.

Leslie previously worked at Transitions of Western Illinois where she was a caregiver at a group home for many years. Most recently, Leslie worked at the Quincy Lowe's Store in the floral department.

Away from work, Leslie loved to spend time with her family and friends. A free spirit, she loved to dance and simply be around people; Leslie always embraced life to the fullest. Her biggest passion was writing poetry, and she had hopes of writing a book one day. Leslie loved the children in her mother's daycare, and the children loved her. She also loved animals, especially her faithful companion, Ella, her chocolate Labrador Retriever. Leslie enjoyed feeding the birds and became very excited when she would see a cardinal. She also liked the rocks her "bonus brother" would bring her back from the different states he had traveled to. Daisies of all colors, making homemade tacos, and watching the "Golden Girls" on TV were a few of Leslie's other favorite things. Most of all, she simply enjoyed spending time with those she loved. She especially loved planning a surprise birthday party for her mother in July, which was a huge success.

Leslie was a member of the Union United Methodist Church in Quincy, IL.
